People in the program wear a small bracelet with a transmitter that sends out a radio tracking signal 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If caregivers notify the police that the person is missing, a specially trained emergency response team will use mobile tracking equipment to find them. Halton Region residents with low incomes, as well as people receiving Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support, may qualify for a subsidy to cover the costs of the Project Lifesaver Halton program. If your family meets the program requirements, Halton Regional Police Service will ask if you require a subsidy and connect you with Halton Region for the next steps.
