Your 2024 Waste Collection Calendar is now online. Eliminating the printing of almost 180,000 calendars for 2024 is one way Halton is reducing its carbon footprint and paper use—we are offsetting over 14 tonnes of paper! Halton Region provides residents with a variety of curbside collection services. These services include Blue Box, Green Cart, Garbage, Bulk Waste, and Yard Waste. Please bag and tie all garbage and organic material. Loose items will not be collected.
Halton Region is conducting a Wheeled Cart Waste Collection Demonstration Project for the curbside collection of recyclable material and household garbage. Approximately 1,800 residential households around the region have been selected to participate in this project. Selected households were contacted by mail in early June to inform them of their participation in the project. Halton residents may pick up one free Blue Box each year from any of the locations listed below. Broken Blue Boxes and broken Green Carts are recycled into new containers and may be returned and exchanged for free.
Please call 311 to confirm availability before visiting to pick up or exchange a Blue Box. Green Carts can be picked up at the Halton Waste Management Site.
Backyard composters can be purchased at the Halton Waste Management Site for $15 each. Limit 2 per household. Please call 311 before visiting to confirm availability.
