- assess your lifestyle
- understand why you smoke
- set a quit date
- choose the right method of quitting for you
Who will be counselling me?
The Stop Smoking Clinic provides free personal counselling by a health care professional certified in tobacco cessation counselling.
How often do I need to go?
Clinic counselling is by appointment only and usually involves 3 - 8 visits, 30 minutes each.
What methods of quitting can I consider using?
You may consider using one or more of several methods:
- nicotine replacement therapy (patch, gum, inhaler, lozenges)
- counselling support while on prescription medication, such as Zyban® or Champix®
- behaviour modification.
The Stop Smoking Clinic offers free nicotine replacement therapy for eligible tobacco users.
