Last night, Halton Region officially opened the Halton Global Business Centre (GBC) at a launch event attended by industry partners, Regional Councillors and Regional staff.
The event featured the unveiling of the GBC and remarks from Regional Chair Gary Carr, which was followed by a reception and tour of the new space located at 1151 Bronte Rd. in Oakville.
The GBC is a new hub of free resources and support for local, small to medium sized businesses that are looking to export, scale up and take advantage of national and international market opportunities.
The GBC offers new and unique services and programs including:
- export counseling;
- market entry support;
- access to information on grant opportunities;
- workshops and seminars;
- information on government programs; and
- networking opportunities.
“The launch of the Halton Global Business Centre is one of the many reasons that businesses can feel confident when they choose to invest, locate and expand in Halton,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “Helping small and medium-sized businesses scale up and go global is essential for job creation and growing our regional economy.”
Together with our Small Business Centre, entrepreneurial programs and partnerships with other local and provincial experts, our Global Business Centre completes the suite of services Halton Region has to help local business start-up, expand and go global.
