At the Annual Conference of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), held in Ottawa August 19 to 22, Halton Regional Councillor Colin Best was elected to the AMO Board of Directors Regional and Single Tier Caucus for a two-year term (2018 to 2020).
AMO is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that works to support and enhance Ontario’s 444 municipalities to achieve shared goals and meet common challenges through advocacy, policy and consultative opportunities. It promotes the value of the municipal level of government as a vital and essential component of the Provincial and Federal Governments.
“I congratulate Councillor Best on his appointment to the AMO Board of Directors,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “It is important to have Halton’s voice in opportunities for consultation with the Province, and I know that Colin will act in the best interests of our residents.”
