On January 27, 2020, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada released on its public website a copy of the report by the federal review panel regarding CN’s proposed truck-rail hub in Milton.
The Panel determined that CN’s project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects on air quality and human health. The Review Panel Report will now be reviewed by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and the federal Cabinet.
“We thank the Review Panel for its work recognizing that this project has significant environmental concerns for Milton residents. We are calling on the Federal Government to stand up for Halton regarding our concerns about CN’s proposal,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “We are confident the Minister, the federal Cabinet and all our federal Members of Parliament will do the right thing for the people of Milton and Halton Region.”
