LEAP program criteria
The Learning, Earning and Parenting (LEAP) program supports Ontario Works participants who:
- are parents 25 years old and younger; and,
- haven't graduated from high school.
LEAP program benefits overview
LEAP helps them complete high school, identify a career goal, develop parenting skills and get a job.
This program is:
- mandatory for Ontario Works parents who are 16-17 years old, and
- voluntary for those who are 18-25 years old.
Financial help is also available for transportation, child care, recreational programs, school registration and supplies.
Students who complete the LEAP Program are also eligible for a $500 bursary. The money is intended for further education or to invest in a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) on behalf of the child.
